The ceremony marked the end of the first phase of a two year advanced apprenticeship.
During the event, special awards were presented to:
Rickell Smith - Best Academic Apprentice Aircraft Award (Thomson Airways)
Ross O’Grady - Best Handskills Apprentice Aircraft Award. (Avalon Aero)
Chrisopher Innes - The Exemplar Apprentice Aircraft Award, (CHC Helicopters)
The apprentices will now move on to a 16 month placement where they will be embedded with aircraft operators, and will continue with On the Job Training.
On successful completion of the apprenticeship they will be able to apply for their EASA part 66 Cat A licence as well as receiving a City and Guilds Diploma in On-Aircraft Maintenance and an Extended Level 3 NVQ in Aeronautical Engineering.
