Aviation Maintenance Apprenticeships

Resource Group is an industry recognised training provider having developed an outstanding Government funded two year Aircraft Maintenance Apprenticeship programme. The programme is industry focused, CAA approved and SEMTA accredited.

Quality and excellence of delivery is at the heart of the apprentice programme. It has been developed to deliver skilled and productive aircraft mechanics to support the ambition of clients whilst minimising cost, client administration and employment risk. 

Two Year Apprenticeship

The apprenticeship supports the delivery of training to achieve an EASA Part-66, fully approved Category A licence. The two year contract can be divided into two clearly defined stages;

Stage 1- EASA Part-66 Training

Providing EASA approved training, supplemented by the educational framework to support the draw-down of Government funding to pay for the training programme.

The programme is an 8 month full-time, EASA Part-66 Category A programme, achieving:

  • 810 hours, EASA Part-66 training; 65% practical, 35% theoretical modular examinations
  • 216 hours of hand-skills training and 306 hours of ‘on-aircraft’ practical training functional skills
  • City and Guilds Level 3 technical certificate in Aircraft Maintenance

Stage 2 – Work Placement

A 16 month work placement, productive at shop floor level, achieving:

  • Practical experience to qualify for an EASA Part-66, Category A licence
  • Tasks to complete the NVQ Level 3 in Aeronautical Engineering
  • The SEMTA accredited Advanced Apprenticeship Framework certificate
