Electrical Wiring Interconnection System Training

Course description

We have designed this course following the announcement from EASA (ED 2008/007/R of 29/08/2008) of the mandatory training in Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems IAW AMC 20-22 EWIS Training Program.

The course can either be conducted at our training facility or at the customer’s site.

Course content

  • Methods used to find information, use of the wiring diagram manual, wire lists, charts etc.
  • Practical exercises using WDM, wire lists etc.
  • Safety practices and standard techniques
  • Cable identification, wire types, cable forming
  • Looming, lacing, cable clipping and routing
  • Connectors
  • Cable repairs, stripping, crimping, soldering
  • Troubleshooting, use of meters and standard test equipment
  • Practical Hand Skills Training with type-related cables and connectors using a purpose-designed exercise board

Course objectives

To educate students in Target Group 1 on the importance of electrical wiring and what potential hazards to look out for when working on an aircraft and in turn improve the airworthiness code for large aircraft to meet the AMC requirements.
