Future Flyers and Expert Engineers event

On the 9th February 2019, Virgin Atlantic hosted the ‘Future Flyers and Expert Engineers’ event at The Base (RH10 9LX).  The event itself provided a fantastic opportunity for children and young adults aged 9 – 16 years old from any background, to find out more about how they might get involved within the world of aviation, especially flying and engineering.

”Our aspiration is to reach out to those who may have never previously considered a role within aviation and show them the various amazing opportunities available to them whilst growing up. We want to see our diverse world represented within aviation; we hope to inspire individuals to embark upon realising their dreams, whilst making those all important decisions throughout school and thereafter”Virgin Atlantic

Alongside other organisations we were asked to exhibit and attend the event. On the day there were numerous organisations providing valuable insight through presentations, practical activities and discussion of their role within the industry and how others might like to get involved.

”The event was a great platform to talk to other exhibitors within the aviation industry. Throughout the day I had the opportunity to speak to  young people and their families about Apprenticeships and the outstanding progamme that Resource Group can offer. It is important to talk to the next generation of engineers as they are the ones whose choices we can support and guide. The event was a real success and I know that I will be seeing some of the individuals I met on the day in our next cohort”Tom Briers, Training Manager –  Resource Group.

Thank you Virgin Atlantic for hosting a great event.
