Group Marketing Executive treks Ben Nevis by night for Alzheimer’s Society

On Friday 5th July our Group Marketing Executive, Emma Harris and her friend, Ellie Lewis took on the challenge of hiking Ben Nevis at night to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

The motivation to take on the challenge was to raise money for Alzheimers Society as Ellie’s dad was diagnosed a few years ago with Vascular Dementia, which is the second most common type after Alzheimer’s.

From Fort William, Emma and Ellie trekked through the night to summit the highest mountain in the British Isles standing at 1,345 metres above sea level. They reached the summit at 2am where it was -12 degrees! After a quick photo, the team made their way back down the mountain taking in the surroundings just in time for sunrise.

As part of the challenge Emma had to raise £400 for Alzheimers Society.  With various generous donations and cake sales, Emma and her friend raised over £2000!!
