Resource Group steel signing signifies the true partnering agreement at Humberside
On Thursday 12th March Resource Group, as a key partner in the new aviation maintenance training academy, took part in a steel signing of the building framework at the RJ Mitchell Training Academy, Humberside Airport.
Now that the steel framework is in place the building will be clad and waterproofed so that construction of the inside can commence and the project is well on target for its October completion date.
Partners who signed the steel include:
- Resource Group
- BAE Systems
- North Lincolnshire Council
And other partners who are key to the build, Houlton, CR Parrott Consultants and Rider Levett Bucknall.
Resource Group will be providing a totally managed service at the academy including all facilities, training assets, and instructors, course design and delivery and the on-airport student accommodation. The new Academy will become BAE Systems UK central hub to train apprentices for the maintenance and servicing of UK fighter jets.
The facility is modelled on Resource Group’s existing state-of-the-art training facilities at Cotswold Airport, incorporating a hangar, classrooms, training aircraft and practical training workshops.
Up to 60 apprentices will start each year, following a 24 month course. Once qualified, the apprentices will become part of the BAE Systems aircraft maintenance team, working alongside the RAF in supporting the Typhoon and Tornado fast-jet fleets.
During the signing of the steel, members of Resource Group’s Unmanned Aviation Flying Services team provided aerial imagery
