Skills Match Event hosted by Signature Technicair
The Aviation Technical Training division attended The Skills Match Event which took place at Bournemouth Airport on the 25th March. The purpose of the event was for 14-17 (school years 9 – 12) year olds to match their skills with the needs of local employers and Apprenticeship providers. This event brought together 25 local schools, businesses and community groups to promote apprenticeship opportunities, and employability skills and to raise awareness of skills shortage in the local community. This was supported by Young Chamber, Young Apprentice Ambassador Network, Careers and Enterprise Company and Christchurch and East Dorset Council.
Resource group attended the event to advise and educate young people of the extensive opportunities which exist in Aviation Technical Engineering with an emphasis on the 2 year CAT A Aircraft Maintenance Fitter/Technician Apprenticeship offered by a number of Aviation employers. It was a really succesful event which provided the opportunity for our trainig division to talk to the next generation of young people interested in apprenticeships.
